Tata Motors offers broad line-up of CNG cars, including the Punch, Altroz, Tiago, Tigor and now the Nexon CNG variant is said to be join the range very soon. The new 2024 Tata Nexon iCNG made its first appearance at Bharat Mobility Expo 2024 and is expected to be in the production-ready form.
Tata Motors had initially planned to launch the new Nexon CNG in September 2024. However, the company recently removed all details (back in September) of the car from its official website, sparking speculation about potential delays or updates to the model. Now, the Nexon CNG has once again reappeared on Tata Motors‘ official website, indicating that the launch may be back on track or that the model is being prepared for an imminent release.
Engine and Transmission Details of 2024 Tata Nexon iCNG:
In early September 2024, Tata Motors revealed the specifications for the upcoming Nexon CNG, announcing that the car would be available with both manual and automatic transmission options. However, they have since removed the automatic transmission option, and though the car is yet to be launched, there is currently no mention of the automatic variant on their official website. The car is expected to be launched very soon, like in October or possibly in early November.

The upcoming Nexon CNG will feature a 1.2-litre Revotron turbocharged petrol engine, producing power of 73.5 kW at 170 Nm of torque, making it India’s first turbo CNG vehicle. The car will be equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission option only, offering an efficient and powerful driving experience.
Adding to this, the Nexon CNG is expected to come with a twin-CNG cylinder setup, offering a boot space of 321 Litres which is far better than traditional layouts. This innovative design ensures to offer one of the best luggage space for the users who require ample boot space without compromising on fuel economy. Finally, in terms of pricing, the new Nexon CNG has launched with an attractive starting price of 10.11 lakhs, with the top-end variant going up to 16.40 lakhs (on-road, Ahmedabad).
